I would like to dedicate this piece to my mother, Renee Mclean, who loved the movie "The Breakfast Club." This movie served as great inspiration for this piece just as my mother is a great inspiration in my life. She grew up in the1980s, an era defined by Aqua net hairspray, cut sweatshirts, high socks and a boom in the music business. I the bits of humor we added to make it our own. 1980s, an era defined by Aqua net hairspray, cut sweatshirts, high socks and a boom in the music business. I hope that you enjoy the hard work we put into this piece and the bits of humor we added to make it our own.

The “Dead Presidents Project” is set on the day the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan. Though it was not successful those hours of worrying were probably not easy for the nation who had seen JFK be assassinated a little over a decade earlier. He was just elected president and the world was ready to see his potential. The four girls stuck in detention for the day find out about this through the one outlet they have, a small television in the front of t he room that plays the news station 24-7. This especially affects Margaret who absolutely adores political affairs. Veronica on the other hand has a different opinion and through the play you realize the hardships that the girls must overcome by spending the day together, their unique ways of dealing and the true people that they really are. They came into detention looking to just get it over with but they never expected to have moment that might just bring them all together.
